  A nice clean simple motel, but the restaurant, wow! If you are a foodie, the food was amazing. I had a smoked whitefish chowder, a "grand" salad with smoked fish, hard boiled egg, blue cheese, bacon, avocado, red onion, and mixed greens. For dessert, the best carrot cake I can remember. All in all, one of the best restaurant meals I can remember. And I'm a fussy patron.

  While Red Top's room are not modernized or luxurious, they are a comfortable and safe place to lodge. As for the restaurant, the food is always superb and offers a superior alternative to the usual greasy-spoons found all along Highway 17. The staff are courteous and personable; the kitchen is clean and well-kept; and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The menu is selective in that it features local ingredients and specialty items, such as bison, duck and rabbit. The price is more than reasonable, considering the quality and originality of the menu. This venue is a must-stop every time I pass by, where I can enjoy a delightful meal and a peaceful rest.
